Observations

Holy cow, I must be a genius!

I came across something today called the Zeigarnik effect and it goes a little something like this: If you are half way through learning something and are then interrupted, you will remember what you were doing better than if you had completed the learning task.

I knew it. I knew that never finishing those mountains of half-read books was a smart strategy move on my part and not an expression of laziness or restlessness.

Long live the procrastinators, the masters of tomorrow!

What I hate about my job

The navel-gazing of the industry.
The groundless glorification of individuals.
The dependency on others.

But most of all I hate being in the position of a consultant. More specifically, I hate being unable to say “no” when I client asks for something that I really shouldn’t be doing. And I hate being unable to tell them I have other clients too and that they all demand my time 24/7 (not really true, but it feels like it).

Come to think of it, maybe I just hate being a wuzz.
